1. Commonly used tank material
The tank body of the tank truck is usually made of the following materials:

Stainless Steel
Stainless steel is a common tank car tank material, especially suitable for the transportation of liquid chemicals, fuel and so on. It has the advantage of strong corrosion resistance and strong resistance to the erosion of oil, acid and alkali chemicals and water. Due to the oxidation resistance of stainless steel, the surface is not easy to rust or corrosion, even in the environment of long-term contact with water or salt. Common stainless steel models include 304 stainless steel and 316 stainless steel, 316 stainless steel has higher corrosion resistance, especially suitable for the transport of more corrosive chemicals.

Carbon Steel
Carbon steel is also a common tank car tank material, especially suitable for transporting oil, gasoline, diesel and other conventional fuels. Carbon steel has better strength and toughness, but compared with stainless steel, its corrosion resistance is poor. Carbon steel is vulnerable to the chemical composition in the oil and the external environment (such as moisture or salt spray), so when using carbon steel to make tank cars, it is usually necessary to perform anti-corrosion treatment (such as spraying anti-corrosion paint, galvanized, etc.).

Aluminum Alloy
Aluminum alloy is a lightweight and corrosion resistant material, suitable for some non-corrosive liquids (such as diesel, gasoline, etc.). The advantage of aluminum alloy is light weight, which can reduce the total weight of vehicles and improve transportation efficiency. Stainless steel:
The biggest advantage of stainless steel is its excellent corrosion resistance, especially the 304 and 316 models of stainless steel, which can withstand high humidity, salt water, oil and most chemicals. 304 stainless steel is suitable for the transportation of most oils and liquids, while 316 stainless steel is better for the transportation of more corrosive liquids containing chlorides.

Carbon steel:
Carbon steel has poor corrosion resistance and is prone to corrosion after long-term exposure to water, moisture, chemical liquids or salts. Therefore, carbon steel tank cars usually require additional anti-corrosion treatment to extend their service life.

Aluminum alloy:
Aluminum alloy has strong oxidation resistance, especially in a humid environment, the surface of aluminum will form a solid layer of alumina, with natural corrosion resistance. However, aluminum alloys have poor corrosion resistance to some highly corrosive liquids, such as acids or strong bases.

3. Anti-corrosion treatment and surface treatment

Spray anticorrosive coating:
For carbon steel tanks, anti-corrosion coating or epoxy resin coating is often used. The coating can effectively prevent the erosion of external water, salt spray, chemicals, etc., and extend the service life of the tank. The coating also increases the tank's wear resistance and corrosion resistance, reducing maintenance costs due to corrosion.

Galvanizing treatment:
Carbon steel tank cars are also sometimes galvanized, especially when used in wet or Marine climates. Galvanized coating can provide good rust and corrosion resistance and is more durable than sprayed coating.

Anodizing:
For aluminum alloy material tank, usually adopt anodizing treatment, this treatment can make the aluminum alloy surface form a layer of aluminum oxide protective layer, increase its corrosion resistance, and this treatment will not affect the weight and strength of the aluminum alloy.

Lining anti-corrosion:
The interior of some tank trucks is also coated with a special lining material, such as polyurethane, epoxy resin, etc., to provide additional anti-corrosion protection. This lining can effectively resist the direct contact between the liquid and the inner wall of the tank, especially suitable for the transportation of highly corrosive liquids.
